Jackson County Habitat for Humanity is proud to recognize the incredible generosity of Publix Charities for awarding our organization a $50,000 grant to support the 2026 Critical Home Repair season. This investment will directly impact families across our community by helping us continue essential repairs that make homes safer, healthier, and more accessible.
Over the past season, support from Publix Charities has already helped us complete 19 critical home repairs, with more projects still underway. From repairing unsafe flooring and addressing accessibility concerns to making much needed exterior and interior improvements, these projects allow homeowners to remain in the homes and communities they love.
One recent example is the Harris home project, where volunteers and staff worked together to complete repairs that will make a lasting difference for the family. Projects like these are only possible because of community partners who believe in the importance of safe and stable housing. At Jackson County Habitat for Humanity, Critical Home Repair is about more than construction. It is about preserving dignity, strengthening neighborhoods, and helping families thrive. Every repaired roof, wheelchair ramp, or restored living space represents hope and security for homeowners facing challenges they cannot tackle alone.
We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Publix Charities and their continued commitment to serving communities throughout Georgia. Their generosity allows us to expand our reach and prepare for another impactful repair season beginning this spring.
