With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our dear friend, dedicated volunteer, and cherished board member, Diana Wright. Diana passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. While our hearts ache with her loss, we find solace in the incredible legacy of love, generosity, and service she leaves behind.
Diana was a part of the Jackson County Habitat for Humanity family long before officially joining our Board of Directors in July 2024. Her dedication to our mission was unwavering, and her impact on our organization is immeasurable. From serving on multiple committees to stepping in whenever a need arose, she embodied the spirit of selflessness and compassion. If there was work to be done, Diana was ready with a warm smile, a tight embrace, and boundless energy.
Her giving nature knew no bounds. She made our staff feel appreciated in the most personal ways, including her famous breakfast casserole during staff appreciation week. She donated generously to our annual fundraiser and always found ways to support the people and causes she loved. Diana didn’t wait to be asked; she simply saw a need and filled it with love and grace.
Though her time with us was far too short, Diana’s legacy of faith, love, and strength will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched. As we mourn her passing, we celebrate her incredible impact on our lives and community. In lieu of flowers, Diana’s family has requested that donations be made to our affiliate, Jackson County Habitat for Humanity, in her honor, a testament to her lifelong dedication to service and giving back.
We are humbled by her legacy of generosity and honored to serve the community she loved in her memory. The outpouring of support in her honor has filled our hearts, and we are dedicated to carrying forward her spirit of service and love in all we do.
Rest in peace, Diana. Your light will never fade from our hearts.
