The Harris House has been an ongoing home repair project that our affiliate has proudly worked on since earlier this year. Located off Ridgeway Drive, the home has seen significant progress thanks to the dedication of our construction team and volunteers.
Under the leadership of Construction Manager Guy Baker, volunteers have worked diligently to transform the interior of the home, bringing the project closer and closer to completion. From repairs and renovations to finishing touches, the Harris House is nearing the final stages of its transformation.
While tremendous progress has been made inside the home, the exterior presented its own challenge. For much of the project, the yard was heavily overgrown with weeds and brush. Bushes had grown large enough to cover windows, and sidewalks were nearly impossible to see beneath the vegetation.

That all changed thanks to the incredible efforts of community leader Megan Homewood and her team, Christine Sieverts, Alexis Homewood, and Amelia Homewood. Together, they dedicated their time and energy to revitalizing the property’s landscape, creating a welcoming and beautiful exterior that matches the progress being made inside the home. Their hard work has made a remarkable difference, improving both the appearance and accessibility of the property. We are incredibly grateful for their willingness to serve and invest in our community through this project.

As we move toward the finish line, the next steps for the Harris House include installing countertops and doorknobs, bringing the home even closer to completion.
